Hello guys.
Today we'll be talking about the DMX model format, but mostly on how to avoid problems with it.
DMX file format is a file format that Source Engine compiler can make into an .mdl file just like an SMD. It has several differences though.
- DMX stores all ShapeKey data in itself. This means you won't ever need a VTA flex again if you use DMX. You won't even need to write the flex data in the QC anymore, the compiler will define it for you.
- When you export as a DMX, your model is not triangulated, this lets you import and edit the model at any time later.
